Does an eSIM count differently?

No. An eSIM uses the same biometric registration, counts toward the same eight-SIM cap, appears identically in your check, and is disowned or transferred the same way as a physical SIM.

I'm an overseas Pakistani — how do I check?

Use cnic.sims.pk; it's free worldwide, needs no VPN, and accepts NICOP. Check monthly and keep a dated PDF. A trusted relative can act at a franchise on the operator side if needed.

What about a deceased relative's SIMs?

Don't leave them active. Visit each operator's franchise with the death certificate to close or transfer the connections — ideally within about a month — so the identity can't be misused.

Can a minor own a SIM?

Not in their own name. A minor's SIM is registered under a guardian's CNIC and counts toward that guardian's cap and total.

How does an ownership transfer work?

Through a formal biometric process at a franchise — not a private handover. Until it's completed, the SIM remains the original registrant's legal responsibility. Verify with 667 afterward.

Can I reactivate a blocked or dormant SIM?

Often yes, with your original CNIC and biometric verification at a franchise — provided the number hasn't been recycled. Long-dormant numbers may be reassigned, so act sooner rather than later.

Can an expired CNIC affect my SIMs?

Yes. SIMs on a renewal-due CNIC risk suspension. Renew before expiry, then re-run 668 to confirm all your connections survived the transition.
